I had my nails done about two weeks ago & I left the dry bar salon unhappy with my nails. I did not say anything because it was the second time having my nails done & I had received a voucher from the Riverside branch due to a bad nail job (confirmed by the manager). The nail tech at Dainfern Drybar Salon was using an almost finished nail colour & it caused my nails to be lighter in some spots & darker in others. Now my nails are bubbling & chipping but have barely grown out? This is the second complaint I have made using a Sorbet in the past month. I am not happy at all - waste of cash. I am not impressed at all. Why are you letting staff use old nail product? Love the branch & the staff - but the application, use of old products, some nail staff not knowing what they are doing is NOT okay. I would like a full refund for a soak off & gel application or a voucher to redo this mess. It is embarrassing.

I have been an avid supporter of Sorbet for as long as I can remember. I go to a different branch with offers the most incredible service so visiting Dainfern was a shocking disappointment. The ladies "upsell" services which they do not do, but certainly charge for. My cuticle was pushed so far back that it bled and the lady laughed. I have hang nails 5 days post my treatment and overall - just a terrible experience. If this was my first trip to a sorbet I would never go back.

I got a lash lift and tint recently and it was the worst one I’ve ever had. Only one of my eyes actually had a lifted lashes, I had 2 completely different eyes. Uneven eyelashes, with areas clumped together, so the eyelashes weren't separated properly and the solution was not distributed evenly. She used her fingers to apply solution instead of tools. My lower lashes were all also permed upwards and keep sticking into my eyes. Loads of tint has been left under my eyes. The application of the products was shocking. I had so many chemicals put in my eyes and was in so much pain, I actually had to be guided to a wash basin to scrub out my eyes. Whoever is doing the lash lifting and tinting has no training whatsoever. Basic mistakes were made that should absolutely not be happening if the person knows what they are doing. I felt like she experimented on me. Even her advice about what to do made no sense and wasn’t true. I’ve had loads of lash lifts and never heard such rubbish before about it needing 24 hours to curl. She had no idea what she was talking about. Had to go to a lash tech to get it all fixed and it was a big job to fix it. You should absolutely not be charging people for this service and you shouldn’t even offer it until someone knows how to do it properly. I got a refund but have now spent tons of money trying to fix it.

Wonderful friendly service and the most HONEST place! I had dropped my wedding ring when getting off the bed after my treatment and didn’t notice. The next morning I called the branch frantically to find out IF by any chance I had left it there. To my absolute surprise Lungi informed they had found it at the end of the day and didn’t know who it belonged to. Soo refreshing to know that there are truly Good and Honest people out there! Sorbet Dainfern I can not thank you ladies enough and highly recommend your excellent services!

Cletus (nail tech) is moody, can’t take instruction and miserable to be around as guest. Please also ensure that your nail techs clean their nail kits. Nail tech kits are FILTHY. Honestly it’s unhygienic! I’ve been coming to this sorbet for year and I’m close on never returning due to the terrible condition of the facilities

Instruments were not sterilized. Got a bad infection on 1 toe and I’m still recovering from a fungus on 2 toes caused by this same pedicure. Manicure poorly executed and didn’t last.

Fighting over clients while you have a client in front of you is disrespectful. Leaving a client mid service to say hi to your client that’s come in to say hi is disrespectful. How does a nail tech do a bad job on a simple gellish? Sorbet has become sub-par over recent years but what I experienced at Dainfern today was next level bad. The intention was never to retain a new client, it was to provide service to their regulars at MY EXPENSE. I’ll be calling in for a refund for my nail work.

I was in Joburg for client meetings and was pleasantly surprised to get an 8am appointment with Sorbet Hairbar Dainfern. I had a great experience, the stylists were professional and friendly. I could tell they have a lot of regulars that live locally which is a good indicator of customer satisfaction. I got a wash and blow dry and came out feeing great with time to spare. They even let me use their make up counter to finish my look for the day. Can highly recommended.
